There will be at least 10 nameplates available in North America between the Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands for North American buyers by 2016.

Chrysler aims to compete with Asian automakers by offering more products under the Fiat badge in North America. The coming stable will also include cars from Alfa Romeo including the new 4C two-seat sports car. Specific names weren’t mentioned, but reports suggest the Alfa Guilia midsize sedan could be coming in 2015 along with the Alfa Spider.

An official announcement about where the Alfa franchises will head is still coming, but chances are good that the majority will go to Fiat dealers.

Those dealers currently base their sales on variations of a single product, but that’s set to change too. Aside from the larger 500L that debuted late last year during the L.A. Auto Show, there will also be the subcompact 500X crossover. The remainder will be more variations on the current 500.

Between those and cars under the Alfa brand, the strengthened lineup is expected to be able to better compete against other brands.
