Alfa Romeo has announced that its 4C sports car will be limited globally to 3,500 units a year.
Europe will get 1,000, which means the rest of the world will get their hands on just 2,500 4C sports cars. According to Alfa Romeo, the limited quantity is due to “constraints related to the technical and technological solutions adopted.”

Regardless, the Alfa Romeo 4C is the start of the Italian automaker’s global growth plan that will see the brand make a return in other global markets such as the U.S. The Alfa Romeo 4C will be powered by a 1.75-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower. The engine will be mated to the automaker’s TCT twin-dry clutch transmission.
Pricing on the 4C will be announced closer to its launch in individual markets and Alfa says it will price the car competitively for each of the markets where the car will be sold.
In addition, Alfa Romeo announced that its 2014 Giulietta will make its official international debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Joining the Giulietta will be the 4C and MiTo models.
