Talking with AutoGuide, Fiat spokesman Giorgio Gianuzzi has confirmed that the Alfa Romeo 4C will bow at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show.
The car will herald Alfa Romeo’s return to the American market, which should be sometime in 2014.
The 4C is a lightweight sports car that runs with a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine said to make around 300 hp, and weighs just 1,980 lbs. thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminium. It is supposed to be a return to Alfa’s roots as a sports car manufacturer, and will use a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox to get power to the ground. A 0-60 mph sprint time of just 4.5 seconds should be possible.
The 4C is will launch with four other Alfa Romeo cars here in America, including a roadster, a small CUV, and a Dodge Dart sized sedan. It will be the brand’s halo sports car in the U.S.
