Maserati CEO Harald Wester has admitted that the Italian automaker is considering making its own version of the Alfa Romeo 4C sports car.
At the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, where Maserati debuted its new Ghibli model, CEO Wester admitted that a Maserati 4C variant is “a nice idea.” Alfa Romeo is a sister brand to Maserati, so sharing technologies isn’t out of the question.

It remains to be seen how popular the Alfa Romeo 4C will be in America. But it’s a promising sports car with a 1,750-cc turbocharged, four-cylinder engine with 240 hp. The 4C is estimated to accelerate to 62 mph from a standstill in 4.5 seconds and will have a top speed of 155 mph.
If Maserati was to make its own version of the sports car, expect it to be more upscale and expensive. But one thing is for sure, let’s hope there’s more stylish headlights on the Maserati version.
